Coke Florida and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation Celebrate Selection of 25 Scholarship Recipients

Less than one year after the Florida Prepaid College Foundation and Coca Cola Beverages Florida LLC (Coke Florida) partnered to fund new scholarships for economically disadvantaged students as part of the Path to Prosperity Scholarship Program, we had the honor recently of celebrating the first 25 scholarship recipients.

During a ceremony in June 2024 at Universal Studios in Orlando, the 25 recent Florida high school graduates became the first recipients of the Coke Florida Refreshing Minds Scholarship. The scholarships cover tuition and most fees for economically disadvantaged students to attend a Florida public university, college, or vocational/technical school of their choice.

The Coke Florida Refreshing Minds Scholarship was launched in August 2023 as part of Coke Florida’s commitment to education and their shared commitment with the Foundation to break the cycle of generational poverty for deserving students. In partnership with the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, the program provides Florida Prepaid College Plan scholarships to students who are often overlooked academically and may not have adequate financial resources to pay for higher education. 

Coke Florida receives matching funds from the Florida Prepaid College Foundation’s Path to Prosperity Scholarship Program, resulting in a $2.8 million total investment that will provide 250 scholarships over the next decade.

We are proud to partner with Coke Florida and grateful for this generous contribution. Together we were able to provide something extraordinary to these students: a pathway to college.
